What are some things l can do to my swing to get more distance?When l swing hard, l slice. How can l prevent this?

Practice swings, Aim before you hit the ball, do not swing hard or wild, make sure you have a good stance and most important practice.

Try to focus on not just pulling the club head through the ball but use a 50/50% strength in pulling with leading arm & pushing with trailing arm. The speed will drop a hair but, the added stabilization will tack on more than a few yards to compensate. Note: this may take a completely new approach in swing dynamics. Your swing will look & feel odd for many buckets before the swing gets grooved. However, the improved distance is almost immediate! I've launched more than a few 325 is with a knock-off brand club. 460cc 10.5 driver. The irons tend to draw a bit left in the beginning which is nice if u r a chronic slicer. Actually, right now for me, they r all over the place. But, that may just be some other screwball quirk I've developed. My drives r center stage though! *smiling wide*

All long hitters have one thing in common & that is the ability to maximize their turn back & through. The club is squared on the way through by the turn & not a flip of the hands so u r probably not turning through the shot & r leaving the club open producing the slice. When a player lacks a bit of confidence he will usually resort to & arms & hands swing & this will usually prove disastrous. Start working on ur turn & learn to trust ur swing. Stay centred, maintain ur posture, & turn back & through the results will amaze you. Good luck with the long drives.

get your hips into it. rotate them so your belt buckle faces the target in the finish, but do it with force. your arms are just along for the ride. if you can get your hips to move faster, you will amp up your clubhead speed.

There r many factors in getting power, l could go into loads & loads but u will just read it, take it in & try to cram it all in ur game..you will struggle & mess everything up

Slow ur swing down! Is the thing l will say, ur body needs to be loose allowing to it swing freely whilst winding & unwinding the coil u make.

To prove this - Grip ur golf club has hard as u can & swing as fast as u can...now grip it lighter (not too tight to crush a babies hand, but not too loose to let it run away) Now swing!

Which is faster???? The 2nd swing!




l do not feel as though l need to go into all the different techniques because u can just google it. l would say get a lesson with a pro & tell him u want to maximize ur swing power. He will study u & tell u what to do..

You will learn so much more then just Googling!

Hooks maximixe power. l know l am a 4 handicap. You need to learn how to release the cub through impact. Roll your hands over with a flat left wrist, so you see the club face closing. You have to turn your hips hard and fast with the clubhead lagging behind and release the cub at the bottom of the swing to see the ball turn over which will add 40 yards if you do it right. have soft hands tention can prevent your hands from rolling over which results in more slices.

l think the trick is to develope a Natural swing. Not mechanical but natural. Then it can be reproduced over & over again. Video taping works well at this because u SEE what u r doing wrong & can correct.
TEMPO is huge in the golf swing. Excluding Anthony Kim & Co, most golf swings r done with a even tempo. l watched Fred Couples. He has the Ken Griffy style golf swing.effortless. Yet in his prime he was concidered a big hitter.still hits a long ball. Cory Pavin is a tiny guy ! Size & strength r not it..moving that club through the strike zone on a smooth tempo will produce a lot of head speed.
l was fortunate to watch the Seniors live this past August. The one thing that really stuck out to me was their tempo. They all swung with the same effortless tempo.yet banging 'em out there 275-290 yds..60 year old men !
