l currently play wilson blades Pi51 what new clubs should l consider that will give me that look and feel of a blade and improve my game while giving me the distance needed to stay up with my younger counterparts.

If you have a 5 handicap, you know the game is not about distance and you know what clubs are right for you

Hello: l am a lot older then u & l still play from all ''Back'' Tees.
l still use my old Wilson Blades (irons). The first trick to playing the back Tees is finding a good Driver. l use a 460 cc driver head on a 44'' Graphite shaft. l cant tell u which one to get, u have to find the one best for u by test hitting more then one Driver.
The second trick is to learn to keep ur Tee shot ''in play'' off the Tee.
If u can hit the Tee ball 250 to 280 yards, u can score well from any ''Back'' Tee.

l personally like the callaway big bertha clubs but you should go with the clubs you are comfortable with

George at age 51 & a handicap of 5 u already know that the clubs do not matter that much. Your Wilson blades r just fine & I'd guess that u have a driver that u like just fine as well. To get more distance will require u to start to try to regain the flexibility that you've lost over the past few years. If u can not get into stretching u will just have to get used to the idea that playing from the tips is going to be a struggle & u will have to have a magical short game to score. l am sure you'd rather hit the greens in regulation though. The bottom line is u can not buy a game but if u must try give the Pro Series irons from Callaway or Taylor Made a try.

I'd go to a golf shop and get fitted. Shaft technologies will probably benefit you more than anything.

l am only 14 so l would say our distances would be about the same and l always play off the back sticks as it is the only way to get the full chllenge of the golf course l keep up with my dad and his freinds by either hitting my 3 wood about 240 off all tees getting me in play and then hitting solid iron shots so l recommend making sure you hit the fairway and as for irons l would recommend the callaway x- forged

l find it hard to believe a 5 handicapper would be asking a question like this, every single handicapper knows that u have to play & beat yourself in the game of golf. If ur concerns r of keeping up with the young guys on a 5 handicapp then u r in trouble. Only u will know what clubs r going to be good for you, if that is ur true concern then go to the local golf shop or pro & swing a few demo's, but i'm quite certain that u must be hitting u old clubs pretty good to be on a 5 anyway. good luck at it !!!!

Perhaps l should ask this question to get for my own question. Why is it so important to men to ALL hit from the same tees?

l highly recommend Adams hybrid irons.

Ironically the challenge from the back tees is not hitting it further, but keeping it on the fairway as, relatively, the fairway becomes perceptively narrower from there. As a 5 handicapper u will have no problem reaching greens from a little further back, but u will have a big problem if ur 2nd shot is from the trees!

So bottom line is go with forgiving clubs, as opposed to any that ''claim'' to give u more distance.
