l am a beginner that just started, and l do not have golf clubs. I am looking for a starter set, that is a bit on the lower end of pricing.

If anyone has experience with golf clubs, please list any recommendations, you will be greatly appreciated! :)

got to your local golf shop and find a set you like. you can often find packages with all you need to start golf for $400 AU. buy a brand that is known in golf, some cheaper brands are wilson, proline, power built.
or buy some second hand taylormade, titleist ect. you can often find clubs at garage sales to.

good luck.

Package sets from RAM, MD Golf, Ben Sayers, or Wilson should all be affordable, and will be serviceable, if not spectacular. Ebay is also full of bargains sometimes, so you might even find a good set of irons or something on there.

Give us your budget and location and we can probably narrow it down a bit.

l would still strongly recommend buying something that is name brand, while still inexpensive. The cheap stuff is simply that - cheap. The weighting is horrible, the shafts r uniflex (one shaft fits all), & even though most of the clubs look cosmeticallly appealing, that is their only selling point. They're junk. We're talking about Acquity, Walter Hagen, Intech, Wilson.etc.

Good inexpensive name brands would be Cobra, Nickent, & there is generally one set per year that is released by Callaway, Taylor Made, Cleveland, & Nike that r around $500 for a set of irons.

Your best bet would be to visit a golf shop (usually at a golf course, not a big box store) in the fall or spring, & ask if any demo sets r now on sale, or ask if any of last year is models r now on sale. Chances are, u will save at least $100 of the price everyone else paid only a month or two earlier. Often times Edwin Watts & Golfsmith have good deals posted in their catalogs. All u need to do is sign up for their catalog from their website, & they will gladly send u one at no charge.

You last option is to go to callawaygolfpreowned.com to buy something relatively recent from Callaway.

If u have any other ? is for me, please feel free to visit my website & contact me - freewebs.com/egolf.

l hope this helps!

Matt M is spot on.

In addition, if u do look for used clubs, be sure that you're looking at a set that is specifically designed for the beginner golfer. These clubs will be described as having a high level of ''forgivness'' & typically have more shaft flex. What this means is, the clubs r designed to compensate for when u do not quite hit the ball perfectly.which is most of the time for a beginner.

Clubs for the advanced golfer on the other hand, have smaller sweet spots & stiffer shafts.among other differences. The end result for the advanced golfer being greater distance & feel. But when these same clubs r used in the hands of a beginner golfer, the effect is essentially the opposite.

So, should u stumble across a set of higher end used clubs that fall into ur price range, my advice would be to pass on them until ur game is ready for a set like that. You're a beginner, so stick with beginner clubs for now..upgrade once ur game has developed & u can buy clubs best suited to ur swing as it develops & changes over the next few years.

You should not go out & buy golf clubs that r brand new if u r just starting. Go to ur local golf store & ask them this question. They will proably help u out & point u in the right direction. Begniner sets r always good. l have been playing my Top Flite XL 5000 for about 9 months now. They have done me alot of good & l have become a 9 handicap. Try out alot of stuff two find something that u like not just buy by the brandname. Irons sets r fine to start with two. It is best to get whats good for you.
