You're a pretty good player for 13. Definitely keep practicing and playing regularly and try to get in some tournaments or your school team, if they have one. The experience will be priceless for you.

Yes l think you should start entering the tourneys.
As for your question on if you are good enough it depends, you have a good handicap for your age but l also know some guys that are your age that are off 3.
There is no set score you should be shooting.

Your score for ur age is very impressive. l think that the next step that u should take aside from entering junior tourney is would be to find a decent teaching pro in ur area & have them take u out for a few playing lessons. This will help u with ur course management & shot selection. The risk/reward selection is what will take ur game from the 80 is to the 70's. Keep up the hard work & always remember, golf is a game first, enjoy it. When u start to find it as a task, then the higher scores will follow.

l am 13 and my handicap is a 7. l play in junior tournaments all over California. Work on your skills a little more before you start entering tournaments.

Use a .223 caliber rifle,the recoil is not too harsh

Not bad. If u really want to go somewhere in golf, u need to practice the 100 yd shots & in, especially chipping, putting, & bunker play. It is where u can improve ur scores more quickly than anywhere else.

Maybe buy Stan Utley is book on the short game. The main goal in golf is to understand everything u can about ''YOUR'' swing, & not what everyone else thinks is right. Just because swing thoughts work for Tiger or Phil does not mean they will work for you.

So from here on out, figure out what ur strengths & weaknesses r in ur swing, & improve on those weaknesses & u will be fine.

Videotape ur swing as often as possible so u can look at ur own swing. It will give u a better visual as to what ur golf swing looks like & what progressions ur swing is making over time.

If u want to be one of the best of the best, remember - Ernie Els was a scratch (par) golfer at age 14, & so were Tiger, Phil, & many other pros.

One is only capable of shooting his best if he has the desire, the swing plane, is willing to spend much time on the short game, and competes with equal age youngsters. When you observe what exceptional 13 year olds can shoot, then evaluate your game and you have a goal to reach.
