What drills can i try to avoid topping ball with 3 wood

in my opinion the 3 wood is one of the hardest clubs to hit because its almost like a driver but you cant use a tee. you just have to make sure you set up properly with the ball on the inside of your leading foot. remember to stay down and swing through the ball, you cant get excited and look up too soon to see where its going. try to also create a small divot when you hit the ball, without a tee you gotta hit it like an iron

l am no pro. Now that is said, let is try to place the ball back toward the center of ur stance, just a little at a time. My problem was that l fell back on my right leg, which, force the swing to move upward causing it to hit the ball on top.
Try this, take ur stance & swing through the ball keeping ur head still & behind the ball. It sound so easy, but with time u get the hang of it. Remember, stand erect & shift ur weight to the right leg on ur backswing, so u can swift ur weight to ur left leg on the downswing. Head still & let ur hips lead the downswing & remember hold or restrain, that is what they always told me, ur arms & hand action as long as u can. Everything will fall in place, so do not give up.
Use the tees in different spots from ur forward foot back to almost center. Swing at each tee with the range ball on it, until, u make a clean shot. Which you, will. Remember to have fun, too.

hey l had the same problem keep your head down when hitting

Try hitting your driver off the ground a few times, after hitting one or two in the air try the 3 wood again, it should be a lot easier then.

Try setting your ball properlly in your stance and place a golf tee (laying down on the ground) in front of the ball. Now move the ball and hit the golf tee. Try doing it about four or five times in a row at the driving range, making sure to set it up carefully each time. Once you do that now leave the ball in place and visually picture still hitting the tee.
