Good. It is an American Association.

With all of the marketing, fan interaction and the fact that the tour is actually played in the states.I'd say English should be a spoken language and not just through an interpreter. If you want to be sucessful in business in a country other than your homeland.it makes good sense to learn and speak the language

Is it possible that the followers of the LPGA are not enamored with the influx of so many Asians and the attendance is down from years prior to the South Korean invasion? It was fun watching most of the old stars of the tour but l do not enjoy an interview through an interpreter or a bow and a thank you.

The LPGA is an option for these foreign women because there is more money here than there is elsewhere. Where do people think the money comes from ? It comes from both the fans & the sponsors. It is awfully hard for these women to create a following in this country - thus making it a hard sell to the fans & sponsors - if they cannot communicate with the fan base. Without the ability to communicate a bit, the players r nameless, character-less figures hitting a ball. It not the God-given right of anyone to collect the bounty of the LPGA without having anything to offer to the selling of the sport.

It is economics & has nothing to do with racism or xenophobia.

Why? Golf is an global sport.and we sure did not invent the game now did we?

So, a gifted-talented player overseas can not play in the LPGA due to language restrictions?! This is what happens when ordinary people who truly believes that they r something higher than others, starts to dictate rules that creates limitations for a self made ''minimum standard of my level of acceptance'' by arrogant self-centered higher than thou pieces of sh_t.

imo has absolutely nothing to do with golf, next they will be requiring that players should only be blond & blue-eyed.lol

almost all sponsors today in the LPGA have a global footprint ( samsung, Kia, Evian, Toyota, LG etc. ) these r NOT american companies & would certainly find no incentive to put up sponsorship money in the atmosphere that the LPGA is about to create

if they r to go ahead with this test then it should be applied to everybody, not just the foreign born players. we all know how Miss South Carolina of the Miss America pageant handled her interview. lol

and lastly , if & when it is implemented next year, they should change the heading to '' The LPGA, home of the best english speaking lady golfers of the world ''

It has NOTHING to do with injustice. It is all about money. And where does the money come from to put on LPGA events, sponsors. l would think that if my company is going to spend $$$$, l at least want to communicate with them as well as with the media. Sort of hard to interview the winner if she can not speak or understand english.
The LPGA to a American Association & in America the language of choice is ENGLISH !!!!!!!!
When the ladies play over in Europe or on an Asian Tour they should try & speak the native language out of shear respect.

The LPGA will be keeping some of the best players out of their tourneys. But.there are pro-ams every week on tour. People pay big money to play a round with a pro, and then what happens? They can not even talk to them unless they speak gook or have an interpreter! If these women want to come over and play OUR tour, then they need to spend a little of their free time and learn the damn language.

l think it is a desperate move for a failing ''business''. They think this rule will allow the players to connect more with the American audience & attract more viewers to the LPGA, which l think is ridiculous notion. Plain & simple, the American people simply do not like women is golf regardless if the players speak English or not. It just cannot compete with the PGA. There r many players on the PGA tour that do not speak English, but l do not think they will institute this policy since they do not need to for financial reasons. Personally, l think the best players should be allowed to play regardless of what language they speak. When l watch golf (PGA tour, not LPGA) l really could care less what comes out of their mouth, l am more interested in their shots. If they really want to boost their ratings & attract viewers, then they should have an ''appearance'' requirement as well, where only the young & attractive looking players can be on the tour. After all, it is a business. Right?

In addition, if U.S. women players r going to play in tournaments outside of the U.S. then they should also be required to speak the hosting country is language to be fair.

Just my two cents.
