it used to always be in Wetchester NY. Anyone know why they changed it to New Jersey?

Several factors, not the least of which was that Westchester membership was split over continuing to host a tournament because the PGA Tour shuts down the club for a couple of weeks, which is precious time to the northern club.

The contract the PGA Tour & Westchester share will rotate the event back to Westchester one more time in either 2010, 2011 or 2012. Liberty National in Jersey City will host The Barclays in 2009.

Yes, because attendance was low, ratings were low since Tiger and Phil were not there, and the venue was not a favorite of many of the players mainly Tiger and Phil.
