l played golf with my friends and l really liked it. l had to rent clubs tho so l wanna buy some left hand ones. also the golf team try outs are 2moro so and tips would be good.

Learn the game from the green out. Putting and Chipping are the most important. l play with an older guy and he can not hit the ball far at all but he always puts up a decent score because he is very good with his 7I-SW and putter. Hitting drives at the range all day long will not help your scoring average if you are not good around the green.

Start out by having fun. Do not take it too seriously because u will only end up ripping ur own hair out.

Buy some cheap golf clubs to learn with & play when u can.

You will start to learn the rules through playing, for example when u hit somebody else is ball on the green with yours, u will want to know the ruling for this so u will find out & know for next time.

You can not learn to play golf in one day. So take it steady & enjoy being out on the course & range or wherever u are.

You never learnt to ride a bike right away, or run, or to read, write. The same is with golf because it can be very complicated..wait untill u start to learn the rules

Have fun & l would not worry about getting onto a golf team, start out by practicing, get some lessons if u really enjoy it because this will stop u from hitting any bad habits early on & u will improve faster.

Practice ur chip shots at home using a bucket if u have adequate space i.e. 40 yards or more.

Practice ur drives either with a stand alone net or at the driving range.

Practice ur putting by putting a piece of tape down on the grass or carpet & making sure that u keep the putter on that line. Practice how far u need to pull back on the club to get a given distance forward.

Many golf courses have used clubs for sale at a greatly reduced price. My husband bought mine at K-Mart for under $200 & then l added additional clubs. Try to keep the same brand because it will affect ur game. If u can afford it, go to one of the golf stores & try out golf clubs in ur price range. Try them out. Choose the club that gives u the straightest, cleanest hit most of the time during ur try out.
