what is your typical entry fee, for a monday qualifyer if l wanna try to qualify for a pga tour event ? how much are we talkin? and figuring you will wanna spend a few days before playing the course and assuming you qualify your going to need to spend the week playing what kind of expenses are we looking at ?

Not sure the entry fees, but unless your already qualified for the event chances are you will not be able to play the course. The week leading up to a tournament the grounds crew is usually doing final prep. Only the pros get to play practice rounds.

Monday qualifiers r typically around $400 bucks. Probelm is, they've been having so many players hack their way around Monday qualifier that they now have pre-qualifiers. These usually run $200. There r several (I've seen as many as 4) pre qualifiers. These take the top 20-30 & plant them in the Monday qualifier. If u qualify in the pre qualifier u will need to pony up the additional $200 bucks. Presuming that u make the top 1 or 2 of the Monday qualifier, u will be playing Thursday & Friday. The PGA section for the host course usually pays the entry fee for the 2 guys that qualify (from the money all those others guys paid but did not win with) & ur only expenses from that would be food, lodging & caddy (you're not going to want to carry ur bag in a pro event).

Seeing as how the pre-qualifiers can be as much as 1 week before the Monday qualifier you'd need to be in town prior to that, long enough to play a practice round on the Monday qualifier course ( l am assuming you're good enough to pre qualify on just about any course on a first time go status). Fee for practice rounds on the Monday qualifier will be at the host professionals discretion. But it is usually just cart fee on a designated day (like the Sunday before).

So u should plan on being in town at least 8-10 days just to qualify PLUS another 4-7 if u make it into the tourney. Hotels fees will vary, of course, as will ur food bill.

This is why many of the so-called journeyman pros or young guys trying to make it have/get sponsors & play mini-tours. It is ridiculously expensive to TRY & make it big. But u never know what one week could bring.
