Are AP1's or AP2's a good set for a teenager with a 10 handicap

l have a 9 handicap and l had this same dilema. l am 15, and ultimately l decided to take the best of both worlds.

4, 5, 6 iron are AP 1
7, 8, 9,W are AP 2 irons

If you do not like this setup, go with blended set, l think its the ZM, they provide cavity backs in the long irons and muscle backs in the short irons.

Yes, they are both excellent irons. The AP1s are cast and offer more offset, the AP1s are forged and have no offset. The multi material construction of both however dampens vibration and my experience with them was that you could not really feel the ball coming off the face to know if you hit it solid or not. You should demo them first before buying to be sure they are right for you.

Titliest AP1 and AP2 are very good clubs, top of the line and they are very expensive. Unless you're looking to shell out at least $1000 for AP1 is and more for AP2's, l might consider something more economical. Taylor Made r7 is or Callaway X18 is or X20 is will be quite a bit cheaper and are excellent clubs.

AP1 is a game improvement iron which makes the AP2 a better player iron. You're like right in the middle. l like the idea of blending the two sets like dude above stated, but that will really set you back financially or your parents. l am a forged iron player so I'd go with the AP2 since it is the forged iron. Forged irons just feel better. You will have more workability with the AP2.

l have the AP2's. They r a great iron but can give u trouble from the rough & trouble if not hit correctly, they r for the more advanced golfer. Given the kids age & handicap, l would be leaning more toward an improvement iron like Big Bertha, this will allow the golfer to get better hits with ease. As the golfer lowers his handicap & wants to start shaping shots, l would start trying better player irons but until then giving a 10 handicap better player irons will only cause frustration. With all this being said, l am assuming the handicap is not from 3 putts. Good luck

You have to realize that u r trying to buy the Titleist name, because u think its the best. In reality, these irons r no better, worse, or different than dozens of other iron sets out there. Buy a set of forged cavity back irons that is a year or two old on e-bay & save yourself the expense of buying the newest, latest & greatest. If u get hung up on the new equipment craze, u will never be satisfied & will always think improvement in ur golf game is a new club purchase away.
