All things being considered the Acushnet company with their line up which includes the Titleist balls and clubs would have a slight edge over Callaway and a wide margin over most others. The Cobra brand which also comes under the Acushnet umbrella is the tie breaker. Scotty Cameron putters and Vokey wedges seal the deal.

The top companies are Callaway, Taylor Made, Nike, Ping, Adams. Of course everyone claims to be the best, but those are some the most popular.

This is such a subjective question. Everyone has a brand that they're loyal to, so they will tell you such and such brand is the best. So looking at the winners on the PGA tour this year, those who played Nike equipment won the most. Now taking Tiger out of the mix, players playing Nike equipment still won the most tournaments. So what does that say? To me it gives more meaning to my motto, ''In Nike l trust.''

The equipment will help but first u must learn how to play. You will never buy a good game.Example: What good r a $1200 set of clubs if u can not play. It is not the club or ball it is you. Now once u start getting better u can check into better club is & may fine that there is no difference between makers. l once played a hole with Greg Pruitt of the Cleveland Brown is & he handed me his $400 Titleist driver which l hit far but yet hit my $30 driver even longer. Learn the game & it is not the best maker of equipment it is the one holding it.

Overall the best golf company in my opinion is definetly Titleist. Also below l listed the best product for each category of golf equipment.

Driver: Taylor Made super quad
irons: Titleist AP2 (leading irons on tour)
Woods: 906F4's
hybrid: adams hybrids (leading hybrid on tour)
wedges: Titleist Vokey spin milled or 200 series (leading wedge on tour)
putter: any Titleist Scotty Cameron that fits u (leading putter on tour)
balls: Titleist Pro V1 or Pro V1x (leading ball on tour & my personal favorites)
Bag: Ping (they have outstanding long lasting quality bags!)
Glove: Titleist
yardage device: Bushnell
shoes: Footjoy (particularly Dry Joys)
grips: Lampkins or Golf Pride ( especially the dual density lamkin grips)

There really is no separation with the major manufacturers. Titleist has the biggest market share with golf balls, but is way behind on every club category. The only real Titleist clubs in play on tour have to be made for Titleist by somebody else (Scotty Cameron putters, Vokey wedges) Callaway probably has the largest total market, since all of their products (balls, woods, iron sets, & the Odyssey putting line) r at or near the top in sales. Taylor Made sells the most drivers, Nike has Tiger & a bunch of top players, Adams sells the most hybrids, even companies like Bridgestone & Srixon make outstanding equipment & have lots of tour presence. So there truly is no best. There r a handful that r all at the top. Find the one that works for you, & that will be the best!

Do not read too much into what the pro is r using as they have their clubs custom fit to suit their individual needs !! Some manufacturers spend a fortune on advertising but have inferior quality clubs, namely Callaway ! Nike is not much better !! MacGregor r Probably the most underrated Irons on the market ! They always have excellent quality but cannot afford to sponsor the big name players, Look what Greg Norman did in the British Open this year, he is one of the owners of Mac Gregor. Mizuno also make good Irons, Taylor Made & Titleist for Woods & Utility clubs & Titleist Pro V is & Callaway Tour l is for Balls

Odyssey-putter
Cleveland+Mizuno-wedges
Mizuno-irons
Nike-hybrids+hyborgs
Taylormade+woods

and for golf balls, Titleist Prov1 is are great but if your swing speed is on the higher side, l would recomend Titleist Prov1x's.

In my opinion, there is no ''best golf equipment company.'' Each company has its strengths & weaknesses, based mainly on where they put their R&D $.

For example, Taylor Made puts a lot of stock in their drivers & it shows. They r one of the biggest, if not the biggest name in the driver arena.

Another example is golf shafts. Now, u may say shafts? But golf shafts r one of the most underrated pieces of golf equipment. Each spring, l first look at replacing or upgrading my shafts before replacing my clubs.

One more example. The most popular wedges r probably Cleveland (CG12, CG14, etc.) & Titleist (Vokey). Taylor Made wedges (example from drivers) can not touch either of these two (in my humble opinion :)

The list could go on & on.

In addition to these examples, the ''best company'' also focuses on golfers level of play. Titleist caters more to the advanced player & Callaway more to the mid-high handicapper (in general).
