Hello l am currently 18(19 on friday) and am a scratch handicap golfer. l have been told that l should take my PAT test to ofically become a pro golfer. does anyone have any other suggestions on what else l can do to help this happen. l was told to do this it cost alot and you have to play two rounds of 18 back to back and shoot 78 or better.

To what type of golf pro r u referring ? One who has the talent & the game to get on the PGA players tour? Or the golf pro who will eventually be head golf professional at a municipal course or country club? First of all if u want to play this game for a living, u had better have an excellent game presently as a plus 4 or better handicap. Scratch wo not get u anywhere. Show u have talent by beating all the others in ur state with the same ambitions. A playing pro has to qualify & that is regional with what was once a $2,500. entry, then to the final 5 round tournament which includes all of those who lost their cards the past season for insufficient earnings, along with those on the Nation wide who still see the PGA as their goal. Put in a few from the European & Asian circuits who would rather play for American money & u know the caliber of competition u r facing.
