They all seem to sell 3, 5, 7 and 9 woods, but never 4 woods. Has anybody any suggestions? Ideally l would like to purchase a Nike 4 wood, but any make/manufacturer would be a start!!
l currently have a 3 wood and a 5 wood. My 5 wood is the same loft as my hybrid and l feel that l do not need both. Also, l wanna carry a 60 degree wedge, but can not because l already carry a gap wedge. So, basically, l wanna ditch the 3 and 5 wood, put in a 4 wood and this will enable me to add a lob wedge too.
l have seen 4 woods on eBay (both old and new), so l know that they make them, but l wanna buy a new one from a reputable online golf store (not that l am saying that eBay is not reputable!!).
l guess that l should have said that l live in the UK, so wanna buy it from an online store based in the UK (if you know what l mean).

Why? learn to use your 3 and 5 and save all that lovely lolly..You will end up buying the 4 and then find there is little difference in your game. Think how many rounds extra or goes at the driving range you will save.

l agree, when l started playing golf and bought my first set in 1974, there was a 4 wood available and 2 wood also. No sign of them today.

l do not think that anybody makes a 4 wood any more. You may want to check some consignment sports shops. They may have some used ones.

try to find a 3 or a 5 wood with a loft that is between the 3 and 5 wood you have now.or get a 3/5 wood and go to a club maker/proshop and get them to change the loft.

Yes, they still make 4 woods, but they dont call them 4 woods. Look for a fairway wood with 17 degrees of loft.thats a 4 wood. l did the same thing you are trying to do to your set about 4 years ago, and its the best change Ive ever made with my clubs. Mine is a Titleist 980.

Yeah, l guess u could think of 4 woods now as the ''left handed clubs'' . They cost extra if u r looking for them, & u can only find them on ebay. There r soo few 4 woods left, u sorta have to abandon it & focus on ur longest iron(hmmm..maybe ur 4 iron?). Focus on ur irons & 3,5 wood, cause that is all u really need to play. And because u said u dont need ur 5 wood, ditch that club & get another hybrid. You will enjoy a new hybrid hell of a lot more then a ''gapp wedge''

p.s. gap wedges r pointless. Use a pitching or snad wedge, or attack wedge instead.

l have custom made KZG clubs. When l first bought them at age 12, l had a driver & 4 wood only. l could pound the 4 wood up to 260, but recently l have switched to KZG make 3 wood & 5 wood & left the 4 wood out. l find that to a less experience player, 3 woods r too hard to get off the ground & 5 woods to lofty, l understand the need for a 4 wood & think that the 4 wood is a great nuetral club. If u want one that is easy to hit with a low gravity center l suggest looking for a KZG 4 wood on ebay. Nike woods r very hard to hit off fairways. They r light & wippy & its too easy to top the ball. KZG 4 wood is the way to go.

So l would recommend that you look for a specific loft, not a ''4 Wood''.
Look into a 16-17 degree wood that fits your needs. l look to callaway for this. they have the best selection of lofts. Also look into taylormade. They have the best selection of woods on the market performancewise.

Visit your local pro for l am sure he will be open to offers. l recently bought a brand new Callaway Fusion 4 wood for £50( about £100 below list price). At least you can try them out on approval and then decide upon which club to buy.

Firstly Do not bother with the internet, it is fantastic for golf products that u do not care how they look as long as they work. (Hat is / Tee is / Bag is / Ball's)

For ur actual golf clubs u should always go & hold the club (and if not THE ACTUAL CLUB as 4-woods r quite unusual & so probably r not in stock then a similar version so that u get an idea of how it looks & feels)

Follow these 8 easy steps: -

1: Walk into ur Local American Golf Store

2: Say ''Hello Nice Sales Assistant, l am after a 4-Wood to go into my set, l have always wanted a Nike Version of a 4-wood, is this possible?''

3: The Sales Assistent will then say Yes or No. If Yes, GREAT, for the purpose of this answer lets pretend he said No.

4: You Say ''Oh No, well what Brands do u offer 4-Woods in. ( l have personally purchased a Taylor Made Burner 4-Wood (Daddy is Birthday Prezzie) & a Ping G10 4-wood in the last 6 months)

5: The Sales Assistent will then say ''Why Sir, u r correct, here is the selection of 4-woods we have available, which would u like

6: Purchase Chosen 4-wood & Lob Wedge, inform Sales Assistent how ur amazing product knowledge enabled him to do his job better & how u have brought 2 x products & ask for discount.
