l wanna work at a golf course but do you think they'd hire me at 16? if anyone knows, what would l do if l worked there?

Most of my friends work at Golf Courses. They either work at the pro shop , caddy, maintence (course work), Clean Carts and other misc. My buddies says its worth the work because they get course discounts and other benefits like discounts on equipment. The downfall though is your pay. Chances are Minimum wage.

Depends on what u want to do. At my club the younger guys would stack balls on the range, drive out the pick up members, put away stuff at the end of the day (ie practice balls on range or chipping green) You'd be getting members bags out of storage & onto a cart & then putting it back & clearing out their cart when their round is over.

The job does have its perks like tips, driving the range golf cart & being aimed at, & u will get to play on the day the course is closed & there is no work to be done.

Yes - golf cart attendants are only required to be 16 yrs old and have a driver is license. This is posted on the warning labels of golf carts. You could get a job with outside services cleaning carts and attending to the range.

l worked at a golf course at 16. l started off mainly in the proshop cleaning putting stuff away. after some experience they put me in charge of the carts and l was the ranger a few times. l wasnt allowed to touch the money though

Yeah, they will usually depending on the club. I've worked at golf clubs for the last three summers, starting when l was 16. l did outside stuff, picking the range, taking care of carts, customer service. The pay was not great, the tips were okay, but the discounts in the pro shop & free golf & range balls were awesome. If u love golf, its the job to have. You usually have to work outside a couple years before they will let u work the pro shop. You could also work maintenance, but the hours r longer & harder & u have to be up at a ridiculous hour of the morning.

l am sixteen, l work at a golf course. l pick up the range balls on the range, clean golf carts, sometimes work in the pro shop. it gets pretty monotonous but hey you get free range balls and golf! l also help teach the clinics to the kids on saturdays during the summer

if u have a drivers licence,it will help u receive a slightly higher wage. u could very well start out in the dreaded BACK ROOM. this is the area were members clubs r cleaned, golf carts fuel ed up. clubhouse ground cleanup. the better money would be working on grounds crew. wages much higher. it could very well turn into a full time Carrier. many colleges r offering courses specifically for green superintendents/course workers. if employed at city course. if u desire this as full time employment. great medical/pension plan. top wages. it just may turn out to be more than a summer job. plus free golf. when times available. try to avoid the back room . good luck
