Good to me is hitting in the mid 80 is consistantly. l have been playing for a year. and hit in the high 90's. l play once or twice every week.

have to play at least 3 times a week & take lessons. Only way to improve ur game is to know what u r doing & how to read the layout of the course. It is not all just hitting the ball, it is knowing where & how to hit it too. Adjusting to ur surroundings & body fatigue. You might hit a club 150 on the first hole, but on the 18th only 135. Play the same course consistently so u get used to how certain holes play, & then when playing other holes, try to relate what u r facing with what u have faced before. And stay out of the water, gator bit off my hand.

l have been playing golf for over 50 years & find that every game is different. Some games r quite good & others r not so good. l try to play three times per week with my best friend who is a pro of advanced years. It is all to do with the area between the ears & l just cannot understand why, on occasions, the messages my brain sends out r not reciprocated by the moving parts of my anatomy. Just do not give up & look upon every game u play as a challenge & lots of fun.

Golf is like a relationship, you will get out of it what you put into it. So how serious is the relationship? Once you hit 85 you will want to hit 75 and so on,start with the book Understanding the golf swing by Manuel de la Torrez as good basic,practice and play all you can,find a Teacher who has swing that resembles yours, be patient.

It all depends on how well coordinated you are, the innate competitive talents you possess, the willingness to spend time improving your game and your definition of '' good''. If you feel that the mid 80s is good and you shoot in the high 90s you have to improve a stroke per hole. Concentrate on the short game of chipping , putting , hitting from bunkers and the rough around the greens. Hit drives on the fairways 65 % of the time and you can accomplish '' good ''.
