This needs to be a fun day for the whole family, so other than getting sponsors for the holes and offering prizes, can anyone help me with some advise on what else to include.

First choose a good name for ur tournament (ALTHOUGH NOT FOR THE FAMILY) THE ''LEGS OPEN'' was famous in my day, then go to ur local sports wear/ t-shirt shop & knock out some items that everyone will be pleased to buy (will feel obliged to buy) for a little extra on the day. (Golf balls, tees etc can be easily customized). Next go for free advertising through ur associations newsletter etc, try phoning into 3aw or similar to promote. All advertising is good, FREE IS BETTER.

For those who r participating in ur charity golf & fund-raising tournament, it helps to pick a format they r familiar with. The three most common formats r scramble, best ball, & alternate shot.

Scramble
This format usually is played with groups of four, but it certainly can be played with more than four players, or as few as two.

In a scramble, each player tees off on each hole. The best of the tee shots then is selected, & all players play their second shot from that spot. advertisement

The process is repeated until the ball is holed. Keep in mind that when playing a scramble, u can drop ur ball within one club length from where the chosen ball lies, but no closer to the hole.


Best ball
This format usually is for four-person teams. Each player on the team plays his or her own ball throughout the hole & the round. On each hole, the lowest score among the four players counts as the team score.

There can be two best ball formats, where u must count two balls on each hole. The more balls that count helps keep all of the players involved in the fate of the team.

one thing you might want to consider is offering your players as caddies this is a great addition to any tournament and when you run out of players see if you can get family l would not use hooters girls strippers or the like it is not classy and will look bad for you l promise this
