l need some new wedges. l going for a new sand wedge and a new lob wedge. Which wedges are best overall, vokeys or cleveland wedges such as the CG 12s or the CG 14s. l guess l could get a wedge from each company if one is better with one type of wedge. Im sure they both spin well and feel good, but how are the different or distinct in certain areas?

l would say the Titelist wedges..
because they are spin milled and you can get more spin with it. but the cleveland wedges are lighter in feel..

No one can give you a good answer to that question. They are both excellent wedges. l think the more important question is how much bounce should they have. Where do you play? Conditions? What is your handicap? l do not want to sound like a jerk, but if you're asking cleveland vs. titleist, you probably should not be carrying a lob wedge. Go PW, Gap, SW.

Do not be too hasty to jump into something that has a lot of spin. You can get the Vokeys without the spinmill feature. From what l can tell by ur question, that may be the better option for you. l myself am a +2 handicap, so l know that the more spin u have, the less control u have over the shot. l play the Vokey SMs myself, but l would not suggest it to almost anyone l know because of how difficult they r to handle. If u want a wedge that has the most consistent quality in the areas of performance, feel, & control, u should look into the Clevelands or the regular Vokeys. As for the lofts, u may not want to rush into a 60 degree. Many people l know r now using a 54 & a 58, so they can have that added height without losing all playability of the short shots. l could try & tell u more, but to make the actual decision, u would have to go to a retailer & try the wedges out yourself. What it comes down to is which one feels the best to you.

Vokey oil can wedge. Soft feel, good spin, can get rusty and looks great.

The obvious answer is: the one that works best for you.

Go to a store that has a facility that allows you to hit a few irons and you decide. No one else can do that for you.

Test out both before buying - l am a Titleist man - but the Clevelands may suit your swing better.
